The Ministry of industry, energy and tourism presented in Santander, on 11 june developed tourist implementation for the sailing World of Santander, to be held from 8 to 21 september.

The jpa “ sailing World Santander 2014 ” has been submitted by the secretary of state of tourism, Isabel Borrego, the mayor of Santander, iñigo de la Serna, the president of SEGITTUR, Antonio lópez de Avila, and the deputy director general of the sailing World Santander 2014, Alejandro Abascal.

The Ministry of industry, energy and tourism, recognizing the importance that the new technologies have to answer the needs of the tourist, has spurred the creation of the jpa “ sailing World Santander 2014 ”, which has been developed bySEGITTUR.

This application it will also enable retrieval of information for tourists, anonymously. These data will help to learn about their habits and behaviour and, therefore, to be more efficient in the management of fate. We also wish to underscore the close collaboration with the city of Santander, which has allowed, thanks to its strategy of “ Open Data ”, the use of their databases to generate some of the content to the implementation.

The jpa, which is in english and spanish and made available in Android (also on IOS), contains specific information and of various geolocalizada points of interest, tourist resources and practical information (restaurants, shops, hotels, cultural agenda, transport) of the city of Santander and the region, and include the experiences in the region posted towww.spain.info.

In addition, will contain all the information of the sailing World with features that add value to the visitor of the event and to the sailor as the type of vessel sailing, list of participants, monitoring of races in real time, classification after a day and atmospheric conditions, among others.

Users can interact with the jpa, creating their own photos or tourist routes, sharing with their social networks, valuing the tourist resources existing or commenting on the progress of the races.
