World Tourism Day
Today, 27 september we celebrate the world tourism Day.

A sector that moves a trillion dollars and moves more than a billion international tourists a year, to which we must add between 5,000 and 6,000 million more tourists who travel in their own countries, according to data from the World Tourism Organization. The numbers demonstrate the weight of tourism in the world economy, but what about in Spain?
Spain is a world leader in tourism, as it occupies second place by volume of income after USA and is the fourth most visited place in the world, after France, USA and China. This means that tourism is of great importance for the Spanish economy, representing 11% of the Gross Domestic Product and 11.8% of total employment.
Spain is an attractive destination for tourists, as it offers many possibilities, ranging from traditional sun and sand, with 8,000 kilometers of coastline, to culture with 44 properties declared World Heritage Sites and 11 recognized as Intangible Heritage. , which makes us the third country with the highest number of properties included on the UNESCO list. In addition, it has one of the best art galleries in the world, among which the Prado Museum stands out.
But not only that, our gastronomy is recognized worldwide, from traditional cuisine to avant-garde cuisine. Without forgetting our nature, with a high ecological value and diversity of peninsular and island ecosystems where you can enjoy exceptional natural spaces, which makes us the first country in Europe to have protected natural areas.
Spain is considered by many to be one of the best destinations to enjoy experiences and learn about another way of life. Even we Spaniards ourselves are aware that we have to discover the destiny we carry within us.
