This year's theme is to highlight the role of tourism in achieving a more hopeful future energy supply, a future in which the whole of the world's population has access to modern energy services, efficient and affordable.

The tourist, economic sectors in greatest volume of the world, has already given important steps in this regard, improving energy efficiency and increasing the use of the technologies associated with renewable energy in its operations. These steps are creating jobs, helping many people out of poverty and helping to protect the planet.

On 26 september will begin some events leading up to the holding of this DMT.
