The Secretary of State for Tourism, together with the Association of Tourist Castles and Palaces of Spain, organize a Presentation Day of the Spanish Castles and Palaces Tourist Product Club, which will take place at the Castle from Belmonte (Cuenca), on November 30, 2017.

Introduction

The castles and palaces of Spain are key references in the history of Spain and constitute a legacy of incalculable heritage and historical value unique in the world. In neighboring countries such as the United Kingdom or France, it constitutes one of their main tourist offers, however, despite our wealth, in Spain they have not yet been fully exploited for tourism. We have examples of localized actions, some revitalization plan focused on castles (e.g. Castles and Battles of Jaén), however to date, no work had been done to configure a tourism product taking castles and palaces as the main element where history can be shown. of Spain and an incalculable heritage, complemented with new tourist experiences, which would form part of a rich, different and unique tourist offer.

In the tourism strategy of the Secretary of State for Tourism, the promotion of cultural tourism is contemplated in order to promote the creation of new products that capture consumer demand and contribute to economic development and job creation. The tourism product Castles and Palaces of Spain is being developed with this objective, and for this it is necessary to communicate it and present it to all those actors involved in its promotion, such as managers of Castles of historical and tourist interest, managers of tourist administrations, Local Entities , associations of consumers interested in this product, etc.

To this end, this Conference has been organized at the Belmonte Castle where the Castles and Palaces of Spain tourist product club is presented, and will allow you to learn in detail about this initiative and how to be part of it.
